Post-Apocalyptic WIP

his is a unfinished project that I was working on. Originally the main goal was to make use of megascans but that changed later on down development due to time constraints. The requirements was to make a 3rd person level that has an outpost or something similar. With this info, I decided to make a level that could be used for an post-apocalyptic open world. The references I used for inspiration was Rage, Mad Max, and Borderlands. I also wanted to dabble in cell shading but i had to suffice it with this pixel shader due to complexity and deadlines

So the idea of this area was that it would be some sort of factory that was turned into a sort of town. I have it set up so it can be expanded more deeper into the cave with some ideas for a quest and maybe a race track.

Whitebox of the level. I wanted to have a main paint of interest (the factory) and a side point of interest that could be used for, lets say, a quest where you have to find a missing person and you see that this was a camp that was trashed.

When it came to set dressing with the megascans i wanted to make an enviorment the was desert themed. So i looked around and found some nice rock bits that look very nice with the landscape materials I was using.

I was going through multiple variations of ideas for ways to get the players attention to come explore this area. I decided to make use of scaffolding and pipes to catch the players eyes.

I wanted to just focus on the main "central" part of a factory and only the exterior for my 1st pass. and have to essential elements like a bar to get food, a garage to fix your car, and a armory. I also made a building where you would meet the "mayor"

The rear entrance of the garage that also serves at the entrance to the factory. I wanted to put the garage front and center for gameplay elements. Since in the concept is that your car is your main source of transportation and locations are far away.
